How to use it

  1. Choose your photo or drop it into the box. The first time, the tool loads a model of about 46MB.
  2. Wait a few seconds while it finds the subject, then fine-tune the Edge, Smooth and brush controls.
  3. Download a transparent PNG, or a JPG with a white, grey, black or custom background.

Free, no watermark, and good edges

Many online background removers add a watermark or ask you to pay for a full-size download. PicFitter does neither: it runs an open-source AI model (IS-Net) in your browser, so there is no watermark, no signup and no upload.

What you can adjust for quality: the Edge slider makes the outline tighter or looser, Smooth softens jagged edges, "Remove specks and loose shadows" cleans leftovers, and "Clean edge colours" reduces halos. The Restore and Erase brushes fix small mistakes by hand.

Be realistic: a model small enough to run in a browser cannot match the biggest paid cloud tools on very hard images such as fine hair, fur or glass. For clear subjects like products, people against plain walls and logos it usually works well. The cutout is calculated at up to 1600 pixels on the longest side.

Questions

How do I remove the background from a photo?

Choose your photo and wait a few seconds while the tool finds the subject. Then pick a background (transparent, white, grey or black) and download.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The background remover runs inside your browser, so your product photos never leave your device. The first use downloads the model (about 46 MB), and later uses are faster.

Is there a watermark?

No. The result has no watermark, and there is no signup.

What resolution do I get?

The cutout is calculated at up to 1600 pixels on the longest side, which is enough for marketplace listings, social posts and profile pictures. For very large prints, a desktop editor will give you more control.

Why is it free?

The tool runs a small AI model in your own browser, so there are no server costs for each image.

How can I get the best quality?

Use a sharp photo with good light and a subject that stands out from the background. Then use the Edge slider and the Restore and Erase brush to clean up small areas.
