How to resize an image
- Choose your photo or drop it into the box.
- Type the new width or height, or tap 25%, 50% or 75%.
- Pick JPG, PNG or WebP and press Resize image.
- Download the result.
With Keep proportions on, changing one side adjusts the other, so your picture never looks stretched.
When to resize an image
Resizing helps when a website asks for exact pixel dimensions, when a profile picture must be square-sized, or when a large phone photo is too heavy to email. Smaller dimensions also mean a smaller file. If you need a specific file size in KB instead, use our compress tools.
Questions
How do I resize an image online?
Upload your image, enter the width or height in pixels, choose a format and click Resize. Your new image is ready to download.
Will resizing keep the proportions?
Yes. Keep the lock option on and changing the width updates the height automatically so the image does not stretch.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Resizing runs in your browser, so your image stays on your device.
Can I make an image bigger?
You can, but enlarging a small image makes it look blurry because no new detail is added. It is best to shrink images, not enlarge them.
