What is a HEIC file?
HEIC is the format iPhones use by default. It saves space, but many Windows PCs, websites and forms cannot open it, so you see a blank icon or an upload error.
Easiest fix: convert to JPG
Open the HEIC to JPG converter, add your photos and download them as JPG. It works in your browser and your photos are not uploaded.
Need transparency or lossless?
Use HEIC to PNG. The files are larger but keep every detail.
Stop the problem at the source
On the iPhone go to Settings, Camera, Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos will then be saved as JPG.
Upload still fails?
The file may be too big. Compress it with the 500KB tool, or reduce the pixels with resize image.
Many photos at once
You can add several HEIC files together and download them one by one. For very large batches, convert in groups of 10 to 20 so your browser stays fast.
Is it safe?
The conversion happens inside the browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters for family or document photos.
