Why use WebP

WebP files are often smaller than JPG at similar visual quality. Lighter images help pages load faster, especially on mobile connections. Current major browsers can display WebP.

Convert in four steps

  1. Open the JPG to WebP converter.
  2. Choose one or more JPG files.
  3. Pick High, Medium or Low quality.
  4. Download the WebP files and upload them to your site.

Choosing a quality level

Start with High. If the file is still bigger than you want, try Medium and compare the result on a phone screen. Low gives the smallest file but shows more softness.

Keep a backup

Some older apps, forms and email tools still reject WebP. Keep your original JPG, and if you ever need to go back, use the WebP to JPG converter.
