Questions
What size is a UK passport photo?
A printed UK passport photo is 35 x 45 mm. For online applications the photo must be at least 600 pixels wide and 750 pixels tall.
What file size does GOV.UK accept?
Online photos should be between 50 KB and 10 MB. This tool warns you if the result is below 50 KB.
Does this tool change my background?
No. It only crops and resizes. GOV.UK asks for a plain light background and an unaltered photo, so take it against a plain wall in even light.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
Will HM Passport Office accept the result?
PicFitter sets the size and shape, but the final decision is theirs. Check the official requirements and use the GOV.UK photo checker if offered.
